VIETNAM E-VISA

From March 15, 2022, Vietnam e-visa (also known as evissa) is officially re-issued after a 2-year pause due to Covid 19. Let's find out more about this type of Vietnam visa with Vietnam-visa.

What is Vietnam e-Visa?

Vietnam electronic visa (e-visa Vietnam) is issued by Vietnam Immigration Department starting from February 2017. This type of visa is issued online.

The e-visa is only valid for 30 days for foreigners entering Vietnam once (01) for tourism purposes, not for commercial or business purposes.

Who can apply for an e-visa to Vietnam?

Currently, Vietnam applies e-visa or e-visa for citizens of 80 countries to Vietnam regardless of purposes such as tourism, commercial investment, visiting relatives, working, getting married,... and stay for not more than 30 days.

Regulations on issuance of electronic visas

If you are eligible for Vietnam e-visa, please refer to the e-visa regulations:

• Passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entering Vietnam and has at least 2 blank pages;
• 01 passport photo
• Soft copy of passport photo and personal information page
• Bank card for online e-visa fee payment (American Express cards are not accepted)

Electronic visa application process

Steps to apply for an e-visa to Vietnam include:

1. Go to website https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn > select E-visa > select For foreigners.
2. Read the instructions and check the box “Confirmation of reading carefully instructions and having completed application”, then select “Next” to continue.
3. Upload your passport photo and profile page according to the instructions
4. Complete online declaration of personal information on the declaration, including:

• Full name
• Sex
• Religion
• Passport
• Passport type
• Expiration date
• Estimated length of stay
• Expected address of temporary stay in Vietnam
• Entry date
• Port of entry
• Exit Gate
• Contact information: Email, phone number.

4. Verify the accuracy of the information and then receive the verification code. Save that code somewhere easy to remember because you'll need it later
5. Pay the e-visa service fee (25USD) through the online platform.
6. Visit that website again after a few days, in the search box enter your registration code, email and date of birth to check the status of your e-visa processing.
7. Get the link to download and then print the e-visa once your visa application form is approved.
8. Present your e-visa or verification code at the entry border into Vietnam.

Electronic visa application fee

The fee for applying for an e-visa to enter Vietnam is $25/person.

This fee is non-refundable if your application is rejected or if there is any error on your visa that you provided in the application form.

Note:

• The e-visa application fee is non-refundable, so please carefully check the information you provide in your application.
• The name of the port of entry stated on the visa cannot be changed. You cannot change that information either after submitting your electronic visa application or after your visa has been issued. If you want to change the port of entry, you need to apply for a new visa.
• Normally you will receive your e-visa in about 3 working days, however, visa processing time may vary depending on the number of applicants or dependent on public holidays. Therefore, you should submit your application 2 weeks before coming to Vietnam.
• You cannot apply for a group e-visa. Each registration only applies to -01 applicants only.
